Truman by David McCullough (Review)

Truman by David McCullough (Review)

I must qualify this review by noting that I read the abridged version of "Truman," which I received as a gift. And though I enjoyed this version of "Truman," I missed the depth that McCullough so expertly provides in his writing. Perhaps the simplicity of the story would have continued in the full book—a farm boy who became great man of bold action without losing his roots—but the shortened version left me wanting more. I enjoyed "Truman" and recommend it, but I do so with the caveat that you should read the full version. With it, I expect you would find the same heartiness of McCullough's other work.
